Focus for the Spring Term - Mrs Whittick Writes:

Class 3 is learning all about ‘what the trees of St Peters have observed over the years?’ as the focus for the Spring Term.

In each subject they will cover a range of subjects linked to this topic -

History: Battle of Roundway, history of the White Horse Devizes, Devizes Castle, William the Conqueror, the history of St Peter’s Church, St James’ Church and other churches in Devizes.

 

Science:  Grouping Materials – natural materials. Separating materials linked to the new school building.

 

ICT: Research linking to the history and science topics, Internet Safety and to create their own plan of the school.

 

Geography: Maps of Devizes landmarks, orienteering around Roundway Hill and create a map of the current school.

 

Design and Technology: Create a range of landmark drawings using chalk, a Bayeux style tapestry representing the battle of Roundway Hill, design and make a castle & food for the banquet.

 

Art: Produce a design for the new school window, design the banners for the music room and paint a tile to symbolise the current and new school.
 

RE: Easter and Lent.
Christianity: Rules for Living- Stewardship.
Christianity: What do the parables of Jesus teach us?

Dance: Banquet style dancing.

 

Role play:  Devizes Castle.

 

 

Letter from Mrs Whittick
Mrs Whittick has written a letter for parents and carers in which she sets out her

expectations and targets for Class 3 children in the coming year.
