St Peter’s Primary School, Devizes
A Church of England Aided School

Welcome to our School website.  In due course we will be moving onto the Merlin system, a new government initiative which will be like a My Space for individual schools.  The system will enable all stakeholders in the School - staff, parents, governors and friends - to upload their own documents, images, videos, etc. to the website.  In the meantime keep visiting this website and use the navigation bar on the left to see what is happening in the School.  When the Merlin site becomes available this site will redirect you to it. 

We have been providing a happy, caring and successful school environment for children of the Devizes area since 1870.
Our original school building stands on a piece of land between St Peter's church and the Kennet and Avon Canal; it is now the home of Taylor Made Childcare Nursery.

In 1975 we moved the very short distance into our present buildings, formerly part of Devizes Grammar School before it was merged into the comprehensive system.

Work has started on a brand new school building in the Quakers' Walk development. This new school is designed to provide 315 pupil spaces to national standards.  It is due to open in September 2011.

Our Head Teacher, Catherine Davis, says:
"The task for us all - staff, governors and parents - is to make sure we continue to give our children a really good experience at school while we look forward  to moving into a new school"
